metrodebogota.com.co is an independent, unofficial guide to the Bogotá Metro, built for travelers planning a trip around the city: when it opens, what it costs, how construction is progressing, and which stations exist.
What is this site?
We're an independent editorial project with no relationship to Empresa Metro de Bogotá (EMB). We are not the official site — that's metrodebogota.gov.co — but a guide that pulls the scattered public information about the project (map, stations, fares, construction progress) into one place, easy to check, always with the source in view.
Methodology: how we verify data
Every fact on this site starts from an official source and is cited right next to the fact itself, not in a footnote at the bottom of the page. We prioritize, in this order:
Empresa Metro de Bogotá (EMB), the Bogotá Mayor's Office / District Secretariat of Mobility, and IDECA's open datasets (Bogotá Open Data).
We update content when one of these bodies makes a new announcement, not on a fixed schedule.
If something isn't confirmed, we say so
When EMB hasn't confirmed a fact, this site says so explicitly instead of presenting an estimate as if it were official. Two examples of that principle in action:
- the schedule guide doesn't invent a train frequency, because EMB hasn't announced one yet — Bogotá Metro Schedule: What We Know So Far
- Line 2 stations are shown with their working names (NQS, Cali, Humedal...) flagged as provisional, because unlike Line 1, there hasn't been a public vote confirming them yet — Bogotá Metro Line 2
