About the route

Line 1's route follows two main road corridors. In the southern stretch, between Kennedy and Puente Aranda, it runs above Avenida Villavicencio and Avenida Primero de Mayo. In the central-to-north stretch, it follows Avenida Caracas, the corridor carrying 6 of the 16 stations: Hospital (HOMI), Avenida Jiménez, Central, Calle 45, Calle 63, and Calle 72.

Along the way, the line crosses the localities of Kennedy, Puente Aranda, Los Mártires, Santa Fe, and Chapinero, brushing the Teusaquillo border near the Calle 45 and Calle 63 stations.

Of the 16 stations, 8 will have a direct TransMilenio connection (marked "TM" above) — for example, Central, on the Caracas trunk. Station 7, the only one still without a confirmed name, sits next to the Av. 68 trunk, but without a confirmed direct connection.
