Station type
Elevated, per the technical design

About this area

After the underground stretch along the ALO corridor, the route turns west and enters Calle 145 (Avenida Transversal de Suba), where the tunnel surfaces — after a short open-cut transition — and the line becomes elevated for this final station, according to Empresa Metro de Bogotá's Chapter 3, Project Description. It sits between Carreras 145 and 141B, and past this station lie the western end's tail tracks and the access ramps to the train yard, according to the same source. This primary EMB technical document confirms what secondary sources already indicated: of Line 2's 11 stations, 10 are underground and this one, Fontanar, is the only elevated station.
