About this area
This working label comes from its proximity to Humedal Juan Amarillo, a real, protected wetland ecosystem in Bogotá that performs concrete ecological functions — regulating groundwater levels, protecting wildlife habitat, and controlling flooding through natural rainwater management — according to Empresa Metro de Bogotá's own Environmental and Social Impact Study. That same study is honest about a real risk: Avenida Ciudad de Cali already cuts into part of the wetland, and this line's route, which runs through the same corridor, could affect the ecosystem — which is why the project includes specific environmental studies and management measures for this area, according to the same source. As with the rest of this line's stations, the name isn't final yet.
