About this area
Portal Américas will be the only one of Line 1's 16 stations to connect directly into a full TransMilenio portal, rather than a regular bus station, with a single integrated fare between both systems, according to bogota.gov.co, Infobae, and Semana. The connection will run through three access buildings in concrete and steel inside Portal Américas itself, with stairs and elevators, linked by a metal platform to a central platform, which in turn connects to the intermediate level of the metro station's main hall, according to bogota.gov.co.

This metro station shares its name with the Américas TransMilenio portal, already confirmed as its direct integration point, according to bogota.gov.co. That portal opened on December 27, 2003, becoming the fifth trunk portal in the TransMilenio system to enter service, according to Wikipedia.
