About this area

SENA station takes its name from the presence of SENA (Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje), Colombia's national vocational training service, in the area, within the Puente Aranda locality, and it sits on Avenida NQS, between Diagonal 16 Sur and Calle 17A Bis Sur, according to Semana. It's among Line 1's 8 stations with a direct TransMilenio connection confirmed by the Bogotá city government, according to bogota.gov.co. It's one of the few Line 1 stations where that connection will be at-grade, with direct transit between platforms and no elevated bridge, according to RCN Noticias. It's worth clarifying, since it causes real confusion: this future metro station is not the same as the TransMilenio bus station called Sena, which closed completely on November 11, 2023 due to construction on this future Station 9, according to a Transmilenio.gov.co announcement; they share a name and location, but are two separate stations.
